Flat speaker cable SMYp / TLYp in copper: 2 × 0.12 to 2 × 4 mm²
Two flexible copper conductors in a common PVC sheath with a central groove: for connecting amplifiers to loudspeakers and for low-voltage wiring. We make the cable ourselves in Kozerki near Warsaw – 9 cross-sections, polarity stripe and custom colours on request.
Technical data by cross-section
Values from the datasheet. Other conductor constructions and dimensions available on request.

Construction and use
- Connections between low-frequency power amplifiers and loudspeakers, and low-voltage power supply wiring
- Flat cable with a common PVC insulation and a central groove
- Suitable for fixed installation and flexible connections inside buildings
- Conductors: multi-stranded soft copper wires
- Operating voltage 50 V; insulation resistance at least 200 MΩ/km
- Temperature: fixed −30 to +80 °C, mobile −10 to +50 °C
- Flame retardant (PN-EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1); RoHS compliant
Colours and polarity stripe
Available in black, white or transparent, each with a red longitudinal stripe on one conductor so polarity is obvious when connecting. Other insulation or stripe colours on request.
Copper rather than copper-clad aluminium (CCA)
Low-priced speaker cables are often made of copper-clad aluminium (CCA), which conducts less well. Our conductors are made of soft copper strands. Always check the conductor material in any supplier’s datasheet – you can download ours below.
Which cross-section for which use?
As a rule of thumb: short runs to small speakers are fine with 0.5 to 0.75 mm²; for longer runs or low-impedance speakers choose 1 to 2.5 mm² – the longer the run, the larger the cross-section. Ask us if you have special requirements.
Delivery
Most orders ship within 3–5 business days; free delivery for orders of €1,000 or more. The price per metre depends on the copper price and quantity.

Frequently asked questions
Is SMYp the same as TLYp?
Both names are used in Poland for flat twin-core PVC cable of this type; our datasheet lists them together (2 × 4 mm² as TLYp, 2 × 0.12 mm² as SMYp).
Which colours are available?
Black, white and transparent, each with a red longitudinal stripe on one conductor. Other colours on request.
Do you offer samples?
Yes – ask for a sample through the enquiry form.
What is the cable used for?
Loudspeaker connections and low-voltage power supplies inside buildings, fixed or flexible.
